Hi Glue (good nickname by the way)unfortunately there could be several reasons why you can't connect to the the server:

Firstly, this is the address you type into the box in the game in join multiplayer: sas1946.rocks:21010

Secondly you have to be running the correct version of IL2 1946.  The SAS server is running a modded version of the game called Ultrapack 3 Release Candidate 4 (UP3 RC4).  I'm afraid this is probably the problem.  You will need to patch your version of IL2 1946 to 4.10.1.  See here http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,8528.0.html for how to do this.  Then you will need  to change it to UP3RC4, see here:http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,23452.0.html.

Before doing this it would be sensible to make a back up copy of your current version of IL2 1946.

Let me know how you get on and I (or someone cleverer) will try to help

I think you can install UP3 "over" 4.12, but like I said, make a back up of your working copy before trying anything,

Are you able to make another 4.10 installation? While UP3 may work in later versions, for online compatibility 4.10 would be best.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Our old friend Gubi at FAC posted on the SAS forum how to create a separate installation of IL-2 4.12 and then install UP3 RC4 over the top.

I have not tried it, but provided you make a separate copy of your IL-2 4.12 and give it another name as in Gubi's instructions you should be fine.

See Gubi's post here:-

Good luck.

Hi Glue,

I noticed two black smoke trails coming from your aircraft during the last fight. This means your mixture was too rich, you need to lean the mixture to 80% above 3000m and 60% above 5000m. The Yak-1 also has a supercharger which you need to select (stage 2) at about 2500m. I know, it's a lot to remember but Russian aircraft are pretty user-unfriendly, as they were in real life.

By the way, you have to adjust mixture and supercharger settings with the F4F and FM-2 in order to get maximum performance at altitude.

Yes in deed, i fogoten to decrease mixture, i usualy use above 3000 meters 40% ,

after you left, i entered once more for testing setings, and i was able to reach with the right mihture 460 k\h at 3700..

thank you ..

i'll rather fly an lagg , its more faster and it's somewhat an better energy fighter..

Apologies for not welcoming you earlier to this happy band Glue; see you have taken the plunge on the SAS Server, hope to see you there some time.
There are a few cpuntrymen of yours on the server; including the top gun Gerula, though he lives in the U.S.
I presume you have seen that on the stats page; if not link here:
