BB....sorry to hear the problems you are having with your new hardware.

Having spent a month trying to get my new machine (Windows 7) up to XP standard and still failed, it must be even more frustrating with Windows 8.

One of the things I had to change to avoid the "power save" feature kicking in was to open Device Manager and on each USB connection disable the power saving feature. You could try that for starters and see if your control inputs stop freezing.

Bah! Im fairly convinced that my only remaining issue is ts keeps spontaneously telling me my mic is disabled. Out to windows mic is fine. It's a shame. Now I may have to hook up a new headrig. Or I suppose it could be...Thanks!

I've just been given a new touch screen laptop, unfortunately with Windows 8 loaded. A bigger pile of rubbish I've yet to experience from MSoft.
Takes 4 times as long to find anything and start it up than Win 7, Wearing my fingers out swiping at the bloody screen!
