When I built my first model a/c, a 6p (old pence!) chuck glider with a wing made of a square section flat piece of balsa, my maths teacher explained Bernoulli's theory to me...I didn't understand, as their was a rather attractive girl guide bending over in front of me at the time....but years later I have a grasp.....not of the girl guide you understand....but of the theory!

It requires no "shape"....but angle of attack to the airflow to make the pressure on the top wing reduce.....take an A4 piece of paper and blow over the top surface simulating the lowering of pressure achieved by the speeding up of the airflow.

The only case this bounder has is that with "0" angle of attack, an aerofoil shape will still produce lift.

When I started I asked aroud the forums about joysticks pedals etc.  The CH stuff was always considered to be the toughest if rather boring to look at.  I think  you will be pretty unlucky to have any problems. (He says fingers crossed)

I have the Aldiss on my SE5, its ok, but I don't find it much of an advantage over the iron sight.  I haven't bothered with any more since.

SE5a is the fastest, but not a turner,
Camel is almost unbeatable. but it will kill you with its wicked spin more times than not to start with.
Biff is a superb twin seater and it turns like a single seater!
Spad VII is pretty good, especially in the 180hp model, but only one gun.

I guess the SE5a myself.  Fast enough to outrun anything and get out of trouble.  Two guns up front and if you fly it boom & zoom mode it can be deadly.  Think of it as a WW1 FW190!    [Also it crops up in most online server games].
Otherwise lots of practice in the Camel!
