Great story Bounder! I ended up being even more struck by comment #14 at the bottom about the flight engineers' caps. The end of an era.

Yeah, that prang raised a LOT of eyebrows in the industry. Stuff like starting a fire drill before 400'. In fact, you don't do anything until you're sure you have control of the aircraft. Getting all the calls and procedures right doesn't help if you can't keep the kite right side up...
