IL2: Battle Of Stalingrad / Re: Update 4.502

Some people around these parts may recall that I was partial to the Hurri IIc in IL2 46, so I'm interested in giving it a go in BoX MP...

Space games / Re: New Star Wars Game out.

I did fancy this, but I have read some (albeit Steam) reviews which say that its HOTAS support is less than stellar.  Also, it seems to have been designed to be "The Empire Counterstrikes Back" , ie MP-centric with a perfunctory SP campaign.  So, like you, I'll wait on this one.  Plus it's another push towards VR for me...

IL2: Battle Of Stalingrad / Re: Update 3.201
October 06, 2019, 04:30:23 PM
Only just noticed these:

53. It's possible to repair in aircraft when it is near an object with the service parameter set to On in the mission file. Repairs start automatically when the engines shutdown procedure is complete;
54. It's possible to refuel in aircraft when it is near an object with the service parameter set to On in the mission file. The refueling process can be started and stopped using the new commands and only possible if the engines are shut down;
55. It's possible to rearm in aircraft when it is near an object with the service parameter set to On in the mission file. The rearming process can be started and stopped using the new command and only possible if the engines are shut down;

It'll be like UP3!  Don't think you have to put chocks in though

I've had a short pootle around Arras in my SE and all looks rather fab. Hoping that we're not far off FC reaching the heights of RoF, when you could hop on a server with 20-30 other chaps for a public free-for-all.  Also intrigued by the kites and landscape of Bodenplatte.  Sim is definitely going from strength to strength.

Damn you Conkers!  I thought, "How come I don't have a P47?", so now I do, but my bank account is 57 quid lighter.  What with that and the SSD I think I've pre-bought my own Christmas presents

Amazing!  Though I have to say when I saw the title of the thread I thought you'd posted something NSFW Bounder...

Mission Building / Re: PvP mission update

Thanks for all your hard work on this Bounder.  I have managed to fix my controls, so barring connection issues, random game-freezes and TS going tits-up I shall be around tomorrow.

Technical support / Re: Advice please!
October 15, 2018, 04:18:12 PM
Exciting news BD!  The bits in my PC (gets piecemeal upgraded) are a few years old now, but I don't seem to have issues running any games (although I don't try to max out any settings).  Here's whats' in the box:

Intel Core i7 3770k @3.5GHz
8.00GB DDR3
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (actually I only got this at Christmas, but it was reviewed as a good deal rather than top-end and was to replace my 760)

I could probably do with more RAM.

I got  the original from PC Specialist - you can custom-pick components to suit your needs/budget without having to actually put it all together.

Since you mention BoX, I would look at getting a decently-sized monitor.  I treated myself to a 27" (albeit only 1920x1080) 120Hz one specifically for RoF/BoX.  Unlike IL2 46, you can "zoom in" to see distant planes, so apart from just looking nicer, a bigger screen is a practical advantage.

As long as it lets you win the war...
Some colleagues of mine like to sleep in the car park so they can be back in the office after 4 hours of sleep. Still we lost the war, both them and us :P
Ok Maybe that was bollocks on my part - perhaps I'm thinking of Scandinavians?

Back to topic?
Think you'll love this.
It's Rise of Flight, but we could try the same thing now in FC with the Fokker:

My favourite Blooper starts at 2:12 ;D

Cheers!
Mike

Ah yes Requiem was indeed a RoF star.  The blooper reel raises an interesting point, though.  You see the final product and think, "Wow, what skill".  But in the context of the blooper reel, you begin to wonder how much luck played a part in the successful  manoeuvre. In other words Youtube proof isn't always proof

that's the German working day, here it is 7.5 hours with many tea-breaks included.
As the German comedian resident over here, Henning Wehn says;
" we Germans too like a laugh; the difference to the British is we have a laugh AFTER the work is done!"

Actually (boring bit coming up), I think there is a view on the continent that working long hours is a sign of being a bad worker - you should get things done in the time allotted.  In the States it's the opposite - working long hours shows your commitment.  Here we're somewhere in the middle.

Hi Ted,

There’s a sale on at the moment, and ROF owners get up to an additional 15% off, so early access is a pretty good deal.

Pip, pip,
Conky

Conky, I folded a couple of weeks back and bought it...

@Mike I've had a quick pootle on your server in the Spad - was fun! (Also tank driving!)

IL2: Battle Of Stalingrad / Flying Circus Early Access
August 04, 2018, 05:33:53 PM
Wan't quite sure where to post this as it's technically part of the IL2 BoX series, but also the successor to RoF.  Anyway, so if you want you can stump up $70 for this new product and fly a Spad XIII and Dr1 around WW2 Russia whilst they flesh out the rest of plane-set (the usual suspects) and develop a fresher map of a part of Flanders fields.

It's much more an evolution of RoF than a revolutionary new sim:  basically all the new bits of BoX ported into the Roffverse.
