Hello Chaps,

I've just discovered a very useful tip when programming ai aircraft. I usually don't pay much attention to where I put the second-to-last ai waypoint in my missions but I really should. When reaching the second-to-last waypoint, i.e.the last waypoint before the 'landing' waypoint, the ai will go into a 'landing pattern'. What this means is that they will fly a pattern around their designated landing field before touching down. Here's the important thing to remember, when the ai enter the 'landing pattern' they will no longer respond to your commands! They will also ignore any attacking aircraft, which is a really stupid thing to do if they are still in the combat area  ;D.

So, from now on, when it comes to the ai, I will place the second-to-last waypoint close to the designated landing point, or at least well away from the combat area, so they will behave properly.

Pip, pip,
