A Dutchman!

Oh lord, not one of them. Tis true, I'm afraid. 26 year old accomplished in the arts of engineering, electronics, software, software engineering and engineering electronics. My creations usually don't blow up.

I've been playing IL-2 on and off since .. Forgotten Battles, left it until the Ace pack or something came out (and was bloody hard to find). Then moved on to Pacific Fighters (ANOTHER one?!). Played that for a good while until even more stuff came out with the Pe2 pack and 1946.

I've played elaborate Scorched Earth campaigns, plenty of DCG campaigns with squadrons online. Flown Yak-1s, escorting silly TB-3s. Tried a campaign in the Pacific with the flying bathtub (F4F) fighting zeroes. That usually ended up with me in the water, either due to the Japanese or the failed carrier landing. The Pacific was nice and all, but decided that Normandy has plenty of water for a carrier and came into some Royal Navy Martlets scenario.

As of late I've been playing a France 1940 DCG campaign, peppering early Hurricanes and Ms406s with cannons rounds, and sometimes getting my ass kicked by surprisingly maneuverable Hawk 75s. Regardless, I feel like I'm getting pretty decent at hitting things. I play Warthunder on the side, and learned a lot about air combat maneuvering. Doesn't mean I always apply it properly, but I try. Seems to work out most of the time.

So! Long story short, I've been looking around for a group of easy going pilots to do coop (campaigns) with. I'm not really a competitive person. I do enjoy working together against AI.

Hi Iceshade,

Don't worry, we already have a Dutchman on board and he's still talking to us so it can't be all that bad. We also have a dutch speaking Englishman so you can talk tactics without us having any idea!

We fly three times a week, but normally only fly co-op missions on Sundays and sometimes Thursdays. This is mainly due to the fact that writing the missions takes a fair amount of time. We are though pretty easy going when dogfighting so don't worry about getting stuck in. None of us are particularly competitive either (apart from Gizmo.....)  ;D

i'm afraid that things are a bit up in the air at the moment. I normally host but have had a recent family emergency so have not been around to do so. Feel free to log into our TS channel though and someone will provide you the server details of whoever is currently hosting. I'm sure things will return to normal shortly. TS is up permanently and we normally fly from around 1930 UK local time on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Welcome aboard,

Fitz

John Cartwright

Hallo en welkom!
(I am not Dutch speaking chap, just cheating with Google Translate)
You find us in a bit of a summer lull together with Fitz's recent family loss things are a bit quite at the moment.
I am not sure if anyone else will be on tonight as Ted who stepped into the hosting breach is otherwise engaged.
However, we should reassemble with a reasonable number on Sunday evening. So pop onto TS if you have a mind.
We have some excellent mission and campaign builder members who keep us well occupied.
This evening some of us may fly with F.A.C on the S.A.S server (including some of your countrymen) even though they are icon-using girly men and also helemaal gek :)

Hopefully I'll see you on Sunday, then. Do you guys fly stock 4.12.2 or some big mod pack?

I personally fly in full realism settings, except for G effects (because AI doesn't care about those effects either) and some map/display things to keep myself entertained in a world full of AI.

Dont worry about being a mayonnaise eater, just don't let matron know! :o

HE Lord Binks.

Dust, heat and sweat. Like living in Matron's armpit.......

Thanks for the game! It was short but sweet. That 110 fooled me, thinking he was in a death spiral only to come up again. Cheeky bugger he was.

=CfC=Bounder

Great that you managed to get UP 3 up and running so quickly last night. it is going to be much easier for those without UP now that we know it will install over a clean 4.12.

As BD pointed out, we are a bit short on numbers at the moment but I'm sure we will be back to our minimum six for co-op MDS missions soon.

Bounder ;D

John Cartwright

Not as cheeky as the bugger who shot him down after all your hard work Ice.
Sorry that I misled you about no-one being on last night. Bounder appeared out of the blue and saved the day.
Shame I ,missed most of the prang; nodded off after being on the road since 1a.m.

That's quite alright. At least the joker didn't get very far.  ;) I was already happy to be flying with others rather than AIs for a change.

Absolutely, to communicate and fly with fellow like minded souls sure beats co-operating with HAL 9000 and his merry men.
