I'm interested in joining your squadron as I hear its absolutly spiffing.
I've been flying Il2 [badly :-\] for about 18 months, almost always offline and would like to take to the virtual skies online and with friends.

Hi Mak,

Some of us have been flying IL2 badly for years  I'm sure you'll have the hang of it before you know it.

You should have access to the TS and game server details page. If not, let me know and I'll sort it out. We're a laid back group so feel free to join us when you get the chance and don't worry about making every session.

So you will be in good company here mate, apart from the odd steely-eyed killer we have here.
We shall be online tonight if you have a mind to join us from about 19:30 Zuluish. We usually fly a co-op mission in a sequence created by the talented mission-builder Conky, but I think he has been playing with his real plane a lot lately and has not had the time. Don't know why he bothers, it's not as if it has any guns or anything.

Hi Mak and welcome to the Circus.  Computers and the internet were invented to allow us to play IL2 MP, and the best way to experience it is with a bunch of like-minded chaps, so you've come to the right place.

It might be worth you checking through some of the other threads in this section, just to make sure that you have the same game version as us, and to maybe alter bits of the game's conf.ini, if necessary.  We can obviously talk you through all this in TS, but it just saves a bit time when you first connect.

Iv'e got teamspeak running I think, it says Open Comms. CFC, A Flight, B Flight. so I'm hoping thats right. Would I be correct in saying you use 4.10.1 with UP3 RC4? or am I reading old news. I have only gone online rarely and always via HyperLobby. So do I fire up 'The Game' and type in 80.1.192.81:21000 in Multiplay/Join server?

Hi Mak,

Glad to hear you have TS running, we are normally to be found in open comms.

You are correct that we currently use 4.10.1 with UP3 RC4 and as you say, simply go to multiplayer - join game and enter the server details as you have them to join.

What sort of view system do you have, e.g.  TrackIR?

Just the Hotas, UpDown , LeftRight. Guess I'll have to learn to weave a lot. Ive been looking into this FreeTrack mentioned elswhere in these forums, downloaded/installed the software and read the manuel. Sadly my webcam is the Trust 1400 which the FreeTrack website reports as unsuitable. So I'll need to get another one.
