Thanks Bounder (and Chaps) for your concern.

We are some 200 km from the fires so no problem at the moment.   Also seems the crisis has eased a tad in the affected areas, thank heavens!   Firefighters doing a magnificent job, as usual, and water-bombing helos are helping enormously - both ground and air firefighting is dangerous and exhausting work.

We are in a fire-prone area, surrounded by trees and bush so we are somewhat apprehensive about the upcoming bushfire season.  All we can do is to prepare our properties as best we can and have an evacuation plan ready.  If things get a bit grim we will depart the fix outbound in much haste.
