CLOD fanboys are probably aware that the CLOD developers will not be pursuing upgrades to the sim.   However, there is an underground movement taking on the 'improvement' task; and developing CLOD mods - much like 1946 was developed further with UP3.

Their mod is out and (reportedly) does some good things.   Get it here:

But before you install it, make a copy of CLOD and install it over that copy.   Steam will recognize both.

To get it to work in Steam you will need to make a 'launch' shortcut to the 'launch.exe', activate Steam (but don't select the normal game) then double-click on the launch shortcut to activate the modded game.   If you do it correctly you will see the letters 'MOD' overwritten on the CLOD logo of an aircraft in sighting reticle.

If you have problems, just ask.

Thanks for the heads up Bluey.  Installed and awaiting testing...

I thought about re-installing CloD, remembered it was CloD and decided against it. If it turns out that someone has actually fixed it I might think about giving it another go but I'm undecided about thinking about it yet.

Let us know how it goes though!

A flight manual for each aircraft is available here:

A more detailed and printable version is expected to be available at the weekend.

Looks like a lot of good work has been done.

I'm with Fitz - one of these days I might have a look at CLOD again; but ATM I've got too much on my platter to indulge in flight sims :( ......... or develop fairytales for that matter. ;D ;D ;D

You weren't missing much with this patch gents. They fixed quite a few flight models but broke some engine and temps settings. The latest patch may have rectified that however.

Incidentally, I don't think the Dev team are touching core game engine code, just the AC layer stuff but I may be wrong.

Let's see what the RoF boys turn out next year.
